What is a Local Coordinator (LC)?
LCs support schools and families in a given area from the day the student arrives to the day they return home.  A successful LC is excited to share American culture with international students and values the exchange student program.

What are the responsibilities?

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local private high schools
• Network within the community to promote the program and recruit potential host families
• Interview and screen families and help match them to the right student
• Maintain frequent and continuous contact with students, families, and schools throughout the year
• Support students and families and assist in the case of a student emergency

What does AnB Education provide LCs?

• A monthly supervising payment
• Travel expenses for home and school visits
• Training workshops

Local Coordinator Workshop & Host Family Orientation

We hold a workshop for local coordinators (LCs) once a year. Our LCs support schools and families in a given area from the day the students arrive until the day they return home. During the LCs workshop, we educate the LCs about school application process, school rules and host family rules for international students, our agency policies for international students, how to communicate with host families, students and schools, problem-solving and conflict resolution methods. We also discuss how to find and screen potential host families based on schools and students' expectations.
