About 

The U.S. Department of state administers the Exchange Visitor Program under the provisions of the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961, as amended. The Act promotes mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries by means of educational and cultural exchange. The Exchange Visitor Program provides foreign nationals opportunities to participate in exchange programs in the United States with the expectation that on completion of their exchange program, students will return home to share their experiences.

AnB Education will help exchange students to immerse in the American daily life through local high school and host family. You will learn language, independence, social skill, and maturity. You have an option to choose from semester program or a full academic year program.

The J-1 Student Journey: From Application to Arrival & Beyond

Embarking on a cultural exchange is an incredible adventure! To help you prepare, we’ve laid out exactly what to expect at every step of the way—from your initial application to your final days in the US.

Phase 1: Apply & Secure Your Spot

First, we make sure we are a great fit for each other and get your official enrollment finalized.

​Step 1: Submit Your Application

• Complete the AnB student application form and send ALL required documentation directly to our Headquarters (HQ).

​​Step 2: Your Interview

• We want to get to know you! You will participate in a personal interview with an AnB representative.

Step 3: Official Acceptance

• Our admissions team will review your file and issue an official acceptance decision.

Step 4: Secure Your Spot

• Once accepted, you will complete your program invoice payment to lock in your placement.

Phase 2: Visas & Host Family Matching

With your enrollment secured, we begin the legal and matching processes to prepare for your departure.

Step 5: Receive Your DS-2019

• AnB will issue your official DS-2019 form, which is the crucial document you need for your visa.

Step 6: Secure Your J-1 Visa

• You will schedule and attend an interview at your local US Embassy to obtain your J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa.

​Step 7: Meet Your Host Family!

• ​​We carefully match you with a welcoming host family based on shared interests and preferences.

Our Safety Promise: Every host family is rigorously screened. This includes a detailed application, personal interviews, professional references, Federal background checks, and home visits.

Phase 3: Arrival & Ongoing Support​

Your journey doesn't end when your plane lands. We are with you every single step of the way.

Step 8: Attend Student Orientation

• Before school starts, you will attend a mandatory orientation. We’ll cover everything you need to know to succeed: adjusting to US culture, building great relationships, safety and medical procedures, and both school and AnB rules.
  

Step 9: Monthly Check-Ins & Support

• You will be paired with a dedicated Local Coordinator who will contact you at least once a month to check on your well-being, help resolve any concerns, and send monthly progress reports back to your agency at home.
