The qualifications for hosting:

Minimum of 32 working hours for each Intern or Trainee

Possessing a Worker's Compensation insurance policy - Proof of Worker Compensation Insurance covering interns and trainees or proof of an alternative, equivalent insurance or proof of official exemption from being obliged to carry such insurance or self-insured

Having an official office location

Having at least a ratio of 3 employees per Intern or Trainee- In case the company wants to host more than 1 J1 intern/trainee at the same time (regardless of the specific J1 sponsor for each intern), there must be 5 fulltime employees per 1 J1 intern/trainee (5:1 ratio)

Limitations or Exceptions Interns and trainees cannot work in unskilled or casual labor positions or in positions that require more than 20 percent clerical or office support work. Additionally, positions that require or involve childcare, pre-schools or elder care, or in any kind of position that involves medical patient care or contact are not allowed. This includes dentistry, veterinary medicine, psychological therapy and sports or physical therapy. Further, programs in sports coaching, construction trades, carpentry, home electricians or auto-body shops will not be approved. 

Sites which are camps or residential facilities, economy hotels, fast-food, bakeries, home-based construction businesses, retail or home offices are also not eligible for AnB Education’s sponsorship. 

Use of the Exchange Visitor Program for ordinary employment or work purposes is strictly prohibited. Host organizations must not utilize interns or trainees to displace American workers, nor should they intend to assist individuals in remaining in the United States beyond authorized program dates.

• Work closely with you to suggest training strategies and help you meet J-1 regulatory requirements; we can guide you through the specifics of J-1 program administration and are always available for questions or consultation
• Provide insurance coverage to your interns or trainees, giving you the assurance that their health and well-being are attended to
• Help your interns or trainees have rewarding in the United States, through cultural exchange and social networking opportunities
• Be available to serve as a mediator to address any workplace issues ​
