Student Orientation

​​      At the beginning of the school year, we come to visit our international students to do an orientation regarding how to live and study in America. We also provide suggestions and feedback to their questions and concerns.

Guidelines & rules for international students studying and living in the US

General

• No alcohol/smoking/fighting/inappropriate photos.
• Always bring your insurance card with you to the pharmacy or hospital.
• Always tip when you receive a service, such as taxi, hair salon, restaurant, food delivery, etc.
• Knock on the door before entering a room and close the door after leaving.
• Communicate with local coordinator when having any problems or concerns about school or host family

Living with host families  

• Be polite and comfortable speaking with your host parents.
• Save your host parents' phone number and names.
• Gentle with electronic devices, such as washing machine.
• Don't be afraid of asking questions or expressing your needs to the host parents.
• No food or drink in bedroom.

​School life

• Don't be shy! Join the clubs and participate in the activities at school and with your host family and friends.
• Ask the teachers and school for help when you are struggling with your study.
• Respect the cultural differences among all the diverse population and religions.
